Runopatia is an avant-garde project, with its own interpretation of this genre, formed in 2008 as a straight black metal band with keyboards, initiated by Mateusz Jabłoński (guitars, compositions) and Dawid Warchoł (fx). At this stage, the natural direction was to create classic black metal songs with a slight inspiration of DSBM and lyrics in Polish, with a fairytale, poetic theme.

Often, so called avant-garde music, created by young, inexperienced musicians, could easily be considered as sheer frivolity and ignorance of structures generally accepted as standards. It was no different in the case of Runopatia's debut! Emotional hypersensitivity, influencing the need for expression, led in 2011 to the release of the first EP titled Emocje, Które Winny Pozostać Uśpione (Emotions That Should Remain Dormant). This was the first and last album recorded as a band, with the original drummer (Filip Tokarski) and vocalist (Wojtek) on board.

From then on, Runopatia became a two-person project. Although the driving musical force remains unchanged, functioning as a band will cease, as it turns out, permanently. For the first full-length album, the drums will be programmed, the bass will be recorded by Barrator, and the guest vocals will be performed by Paweł Leniart (Diaboł Boruta, Misteria). In 2018, longplay Kult Przemijania (Cult of Transience) was released, and Barrator leaves the group.

The impossibility of taming the specific musical identity, which cannot be found in other Archive's Projects, begins to call for attention. After unsuccessful attempts to rebuild the status of a band in Wrocław (2020-2023), the project returns to a solo form. Although not entirely.

In 2024, in collaboration with Wojmir (voc) in the Lower Silesian region, another EP titled Archaistia will be released. All instruments will be, if not programmed, then recorded, in a home studio, while external studio will take over the production. Wojmir remains part of the project and his vocal & lyrical contribution will accompany new compositions in the current state.

As time passes, it only emphasizes the archaic nature and selflessness of Runopatia's work, and the youthful creative freedom mentioned at the beginning, which does not conform to any norms and limitations, except for its own, remains consciously the most important constant in the band's identity today.

If we were to present a few major creations of horror in pop culture over the past decades, the received list could not lack the works of Stephen King and Clive Barker, Hitchcock's The Birds, Kubrick's The Shining, The Exorcist, as well as Asian horror cinema or Alien franchise. A long list inspired the creators of the World of Darkness, video games, and gothic festivals. An even longer list has turned you into a gamer and a no-lifer, whose anticipation for the release of a new album by your favorite band and regular outings to concerts with pre-parties (and after-parties) keeps you alive, from paycheck to paycheck. The civilization of darkness, spread by the tentacles of social media, has become a digital mycelium that infects to act.

This action, in 2016, for certain individuals, turned out to be the founding of a music project describing this phenomenon. Thus, Into Dark was born.

Chapters of Darkness opens with longplay Tone.Death.Memories (2017), and leaves open, observing and listening to you in mutuality(!), listener, with release of EP I, Glance (2023).

Eternally restless, existing in fear and on the brink of resignation, which they will never achieve, the diaries of Into Dark invites you to familiarize yourself with their content.

Nostalgia is a feeling whose dualism causes pain and joy. Does something arise from this that can be predicted? Is pleasure greater the more it hurts? Unfortunately, the listener will not find answers to any of these questions in the creations of Ropes Notes, as these only serves as a transmitter. A substance whose leading action is an attempt to convey through riff what once was, if it ever existed at all. Notes are materializing (weaving, if you will) nostalgia into a unique kind of Rope.

Organic, vintage sounding guitars cooperate with synths, creating sad melodies from times in which no one lived, yet everyone remembers. Eternally, instinctively, we desire to never stop listening to them. Looping. Notes-ropes.

As with other content of the Archive, the status of Ropes Notes has also changed over the years. In 2014, releasing the instrumental Demo Ropes Notes debuted as a one-person project. The initial idea was changed and bent to conventional band pattern for the release of the EP My Presence (2018). Several gigs were played.

Today, Ropes Notes, again as a one-person project, wants to present itself as it did in the beginning, and the story may come full circle once again. Although, as we know very well, the rope must be replaced after breaking, and it will never be the same again.
